Kim Hong-hee, Artistic Director
Kim Hong-hee, Ph. D. in art history, Hongik University, has been active as a curator, and art critic, and dedicated to the education for younger generations. As the director of the Ssamzie Space, she has played a significant role in supporting experimental young artists.
Her main curatorial activities include the curator of the special exhibition, InfoArt, at the Gwangju Biennale (1995), the main exhibition commissioner for the Gwangju Biennale (2000), and the commissioner for the Korean Pavilion in the 50th Venice Biennale (2003). In addition, she served as an organizing committee member for CIMAM Seoul 2004 and as an international committee member for the 2001 Yokohama Triennale. She has published several books, including Discourse and Sites of Modern Art I, II (2003), Nam June Paik • Happening • Video (1999), and Feminism •Video • Art (1998).

Wu Hung, Chief Curator of The First Chapter_Trace Root
Wu Hung, Ph. D. in Art History and Anthropology, Harvard University, is an art historian, curator and writer. Dr. Wu is currently Harrie A. Vanderstappen Distinguished Service Professor in Chinese Art History at the University of Chicago, Director of the Center for the Art of East Asia, and Consulting Curator of the Smart Museum of Art. He was the Chief Curator of the First Guangzhou Triennial, and recently curated Visual Performance (Chicago 2004) and About Beauty in Berlin’s Haus der Kulturen der Welt (2005). His books include Chinese Art at the Crossroads: Between Past and Future, Between East and West (2002), Exhibiting Experimental Art in China (2000) and Transience: Chinese Experimental Art at the End of the Twentieth Century (1999) |

Kim, Sang-yun, Chief Programmer of The Third Sector_Citizen Program
Kim, Sang-yun, graduated from Chonnam National University, has been actively involved in citizen’s activities based in Gwangju. He served as the Representative Director of Hashim, Ltd.(1984-2001), Director of Gwangju YMCA (1998-2001), Vice-Secretary General(1999-2000) and Director of the Board(2001) of the Gwangju Biennale Foundation. He is currently Chairman of the Cultural Association of Gwangju, Director of the Board at Bookook Cultural Foundation, Auditor of the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, Board Member of the Presidential Committee for Culture Cities, Advisor of the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development and Organizing Committee Member of the Foundation for Cultural Exchanges in Gwangju. |
